Firm Profile

Roberds Consulting Engineers was established in March, 1984.

We chose to be a single discipline firm, Electrical, rather than Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing.  This promotes focus on one discipline with the goal to be the best in our field.

We have membership in the following organizations:

• Building Industries Consulting Services International
• Illuminating Engineering Society
• Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
• National Fire Protection Association

The firm also has a LEED, AP on Staff

The firm is structured into groups.  Each group is led by an associate with designers and CADD operators.  Presently, we have eleven technical and one administrative persons.

The major service offered is electrical power engineering for buildings.  This includes coordinating the electrical service with the local electrical power provider, engineering emergency generating equipment, sizing service and distribution equipment and circuiting of receptacles, lighting and mechanical equipment.

We provide lighting design for interior spaces, exterior landscape, parking and sport fields.  Our firm designs fire alarm, paging, sound reinforcement, telephone/data cabling system, dimming and security systems.

We perform studies to analyze problems, existing capacities, code compliance and failures.

Finally, we visit installations to confirm the electrical installations follow the design.
